Did you know that nearly all, or up to 90% of, new houses come with central air conditioning units? Air conditioned movie theaters thrived in some of history’s toughest economic times, namely The Great Depression, for a reason. Air conditioning promotes comfort and, even more importantly, good health. What are some crucial questions to ask, whether you are using traditional air conditioning units, central air, or need to catch up on AC heating repair?
How Did Air Conditioning Get Started?
Back in 1902, Willis Carrier needed to a means regulating temperatures in a New York City publishing house. Carrier developed the first air conditioning unit, which helped reduce the likelihood of smudged ink, and kept the company’s paper from expanding and contracting in the summer heat. One of the first air conditioners, popular in the mid 19th century, skipped coolants and chemicals. Instead, these units, dubbed swamp coolers, worked by chilling water and, thereby, overall room temperatures. Swamp coolers still exist today, although they are much more difficult to find, and do not chill air as well as standard and central air conditioning units.
What Should You Know About Modern Air Conditioning?
Today, as many as 76% of U.S. Midwestern houses use central air, and another 44% of homes in the Northeast favor central air conditioning, too. Why? Central air conditioning pushes cool air through vents, ducts, and sometimes pipes, making it easy to cool your entire home. Most units do not even require a window, or a take up space in your home. Instead, central air conditioning units are commonly attached to the sides of homes. Even better, central air promotes good health. Air conditioners filter air, too, providing cleaner, fresher air for allergy sufferers and asthmatics. Some medications, such as insulin, require strictly controlled temperatures to remain effective. Without cooling and air conditioning technology, these medical advances would not have been possible.
Ac heating repair, and air conditioning maintenance, is not something to be taken lightly. Well-maintained air conditioners promise comfortable temperatures, health benefits, and more. See this reference for more.

I guess I’m a bit behind, but I had no idea that air conditioners actually filtered air, and made it cleaner. That’s awesome. I will definitely keep that in mind in the future.
